Fife based artist Hilke MacIntyre has just sent us some of her fabulous new ceramic reliefs. Each wall-hanging relief is one of an edition of only 50 (although the colouring of each makes each one unique). I love the differing patterns and textures in Hilke's work. What you don't really see in these images are the contrasts between the matt and glazed areas which really lift them. I also love how her female figures always seem to dressed in lovely 50's style dresses whether they are out doing the garden, feeding the hens, or out and about the town! Find out more about Hilke and her artist husband Ian here.

back again!
I was away cycling in the Czech Republic last week (which was both fantastic and hard work in equal measures!). I'll put a few pictures up when I get sorted but meanwhile a wee look at a few things that have been arriving at boo vake....
kim jenkins - lucky bird
Beautiful cards and gift tags by london based printmaker Kim Jenkins (aka Lucky Bird). All Kim's designs are hand-printed using a foil press. They really are stunning in real life and would be great framed. We also have some card coasters which are hand-printed with bird designs (which I certainly won't be putting my drippy cup on!).
anthony zinonos
Some fabulous collage kits, handmade notebooks & badges from Norwich artist and 'maker of things involving paper' Anthony Zinonos!

boats, bikes & balls
cycle-camping in the sma' glen
A few things from the last few weekends. I managed to have my first proper 'head hitting the road' type fall from my bike. Took a tumble after hitting some gravel at the side of the road on a downhill corner. Luckily no lasting damage - just scrapes and bruises (or 'road rash' as somebody called it!). Thanks to Susan at the Bankfoot Inn for the plasters and soothing cream!
